Virgil Elliott
Artist, Author, and Musician
Virgil Elliott is a world-respected painter and a widely acknowledged authority on artists’ materials and techniques. He is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World. Virgil is one of only twenty-four artists worldwide with certification from the American Portrait Society. His work is included in the Art Renewal Center’s Gallery of Living Masters. A Signature Member of the American Society of Portrait Artists and the Society of Western Artists, Elliott has written articles for several publications, including the Classical Realism Journal and The Portrait Signature. He is a member of the ASTM Subcommittee on Artist’s Paints and Materials. He lives in Penngrove, California.

Alan Douglas Ray, PhD, SCA, AFCA

Alan Douglas Ray is a classically-trained, traditional oil painter based in Toronto, Canada, with a passion for portraiture, figures, and still life.
Alan’s art education is grounded in the drawing and painting techniques of the Old Masters. He graduated from Toronto’s Academy of Realist Art in 2013 and is currently studying at the Online Aristides Atelier with director Juliette Aristides.
He is the founder and current president of FCA Toronto, a chapter of the historic Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA). Alan is also an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and belongs to the Oil Painters of America (OPA), Portrait Society of America (PSA), International Guild of Realism (IGOR), and National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society (NOAPS).
